Chip n dale Iron railing with a polished brass top cap to finish it off. This railings challenge was insuring all the geometric patterns lined up just right!!!

Lake Arthur Regatta Trophy

We had the pleasure of designing and crafting the trophy for this year’s Lake Arthur Regatta that took place May 25 and 26 in Lake Arthur, LA. We wanted to present the festival with a unique trophy to award the winner of the sailboat race. It was real fun to work on this custom trophy project. We chose to go with black, gold, and stainless with a wooden base to get nice depth and contrast. We are very pleased with the outcome of the Regatta trophy. Organic Iron Scrollwork

We recently designed and forged this organic custom wall piece for a client. They wanted to spice up the brick wall on the front of their home. We incorporated their initials, “S” and “G”, into the design to add a personal touch. A custom scroll piece is an easy way to really bring a wall to life. Let us know what you think!

Tom Ford: Interior Railing

We always enjoy doing railing with an artistic touch. We had the pleasure of designing and fabricating this rail for Tom Ford. After a consultation in our gallery Josh designed three options for Tom. In the end Tom chose to go with a unique forged tulip flower railing finished with an old blacksmith wax recipe from Samuel Yellin. The goal for this design was to provide Mr. Ford with a very organic rail to suit the flow of his home. We chose to go with an antique pine to really draw the focus to the uniquely forged tulip railing. The contrast between the light colored pine and the dark wax finish on the railing proved to be a very bold finish. One of our main focuses in the design process and during fabrication is providing a product for people who truly appreciate quality and detail. Custom Copper Awnings

We recently had a couple looking for a way to protect and also decorate their windows. They came across our copper awnings on our website and immediately fell in love. Foldforming

Yesterday we had the chance to work with the technique of foldforming. Josh’s main spark of interest in foldforming came after purchasing Charles Lewton-Brain’s book “Foldforming.” This technique produces some incredible results.

Josh started out with small sheets of copper. He took each sheet and folded it over onto itself. Then placed the copper sheet into the forge. Following the forge, it was submerged into water completing the annealing process. Once the sheet cooled down it was ready to be hammered and worked into the shape needed.

This technique was used for a gate being built for Tupper Homes. The initial plan was to use cast iron medallion, but Josh had the great idea of incorporating foldforming into this project to accent the gate. Stay tuned for photos of the finished and installed gate. It was a lot of fun working on all of this with Josh yesterday. I hope you enjoy.
